Remote Buddy is a remote access and remote support application that allows users to connect to and control authorized devices, including supported Windows and Android devices.
This Privacy Policy explains how Remote Buddy handles information when you use the Remote Buddy application, website, servers, and related services.
By using Remote Buddy, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information Remote Buddy May Process
Remote Buddy may process information necessary to establish, maintain, secure, and manage remote-access sessions.
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Remote Buddy device ID or Buddy ID
- Device type and operating system
- Application version
- Device and session identifiers
- Connection and session information
- IP address and network information
- Connection status
- Diagnostic and technical information
- Authentication and session tokens
- Information necessary to provide remote-access functionality
We aim to limit information processing to what is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Remote Buddy.
2. Remote Screen Sharing
When a user enables remote access on a supported Android device, Remote Buddy may use Android's MediaProjection functionality to capture and transmit the device screen to the authorized remote device during a remote session.
Screen sharing begins only after the Android device user grants the required screen-capture permission.
Information visible on the screen during an active remote session may therefore be visible to the authorized person controlling or viewing the remote device.
Users should close or hide confidential information before beginning a remote session when appropriate.
3. Accessibility Service
On Android, Remote Buddy uses the AccessibilityService API to provide remote-control functionality.
When Remote Control is enabled, Accessibility Service allows Remote Buddy to perform user-authorized remote interactions such as:
- Taps
- Swipes
- Scrolling
- Navigation
- Text and keyboard input
- Other supported remote-control actions
Remote Buddy uses Accessibility Service to enable its remote-control functionality and not to present itself as an accessibility tool for people with disabilities.
Remote Buddy does not use Accessibility Service to autonomously make decisions or initiate actions independently of the remote-control functionality.
The Android device user must explicitly enable Remote Buddy's Accessibility Service through Android settings and can disable it through Android settings.
Google Play requires apps that are not accessibility tools but use AccessibilityService to clearly disclose this use and obtain affirmative user consent. Google Help
4. Remote Control and User Authorization
Remote Buddy is intended to be used only with devices that you own or devices for which you have authorization to access.
Where supported, an incoming remote connection may require the receiving user to accept the connection before remote access begins.
Users must not use Remote Buddy to access or control another person's device without authorization.
5. Keyboard, Mouse and Touch Input
During an authorized remote-control session, Remote Buddy may transmit control commands between connected devices.
These commands may include:
- Mouse movements and clicks
- Touch coordinates
- Tap and swipe commands
- Keyboard input
- Navigation commands
This information is processed as necessary to provide the remote-control service.
6. Clipboard Information
Where clipboard synchronization is supported and enabled, clipboard content may be transmitted between devices participating in the remote session.
Clipboard information can contain personal or sensitive information depending on what the user has copied.
Users should avoid copying passwords, payment information, authentication codes, or other sensitive information while clipboard synchronization is active unless necessary and appropriate.
7. Remote Buddy Servers and Relay Services
Remote Buddy may communicate with Remote Buddy-operated infrastructure to provide functions such as:
- Device registration
- Buddy ID availability
- Connection establishment
- Session authentication
- Remote-session coordination
- Relay connectivity
- Service administration and security
Some remote sessions may pass through Remote Buddy relay infrastructure when required to establish connectivity between devices.
8. Security
We use technical measures intended to protect Remote Buddy communications and reduce unauthorized access.
Remote Buddy uses secured network communication for supported server and relay connections.
However, no internet-based service, network connection, or software system can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and should accept remote-access requests only from people they trust.
9. How We Use Information
Information processed by Remote Buddy may be used to:
- Provide remote-access functionality
- Connect authorized devices
- Authenticate sessions
- Operate Remote Buddy infrastructure
- Maintain connection reliability
- Diagnose technical problems
- Prevent abuse and unauthorized access
- Maintain application and service security
- Improve Remote Buddy functionality
We do not use Accessibility Service data for advertising or marketing.
10. Sharing of Information
Remote Buddy may transmit information between devices when necessary to provide a user-requested remote session.
We may also use infrastructure and service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Remote Buddy.
We do not sell personal or sensitive user data.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
11. Data Retention
Technical, security, diagnostic, and session-related information may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was processed, including operation, troubleshooting, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.
Where information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymize it in accordance with applicable requirements.
12. Permissions
Depending on the operating system and features being used, Remote Buddy may request permissions or system capabilities required to provide its functionality.
On Android, these may include:
Screen Capture / MediaProjection
Used to share the Android device screen during an authorized remote session.
Accessibility Service
Used to enable remote touch, swipe, navigation and keyboard/control functions.
Notifications
Used to display Remote Buddy service status, remote-access notifications, incoming connection information, and other relevant service notifications.
Remote Buddy will request permissions only when they are required for applicable functionality.
13. Third-Party Applications and Content
During a remote session, users may interact with other applications installed on the remote device.
Those applications are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Remote Buddy is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party applications, websites, or services accessed by a user during a remote session.
14. Children's Privacy
Remote Buddy is a remote-access and technical-support application and is not designed specifically for children.
Children should not use Remote Buddy without appropriate parent or guardian supervision where required.
15. User Choices and Controls
Users maintain control over important Remote Buddy capabilities.
Depending on the device and operating system, users may:
- Accept or reject incoming remote-access requests
- Stop an active remote-access session
- Disable Remote Buddy Accessibility Service
- Revoke screen-sharing permission
- Disable Remote Buddy permissions through device settings
- Uninstall Remote Buddy
Disabling certain permissions may prevent corresponding Remote Buddy features from working.
16. Data Deletion and Privacy Requests
Users may contact us to request information about applicable personal information associated with Remote Buddy or request deletion where applicable.
If Remote Buddy introduces user accounts that retain personal information, we will provide the account and data-deletion mechanisms required by applicable law and Google Play policies.
Google Play requires apps with account creation to provide appropriate account-deletion options, including an external method where applicable. Google Help

We may update this Privacy Policy when Remote Buddy features, technology, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change.
When the policy is updated, the Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
